MICHAEL SCHENKER PRESENTS “MY YEARS WITH UFO” AT MIDALIDARE ROCK IN THE WINE VALLEY
Elvenking completes the second day of the festival
Michael Schenker Group will join the Midalidare Rock In The Wine Valley 2025. Michael Schenker celebrates his 50th anniversary and promises a great show with music from his latest album "My Years with UFO," released in September of last year. Michael Schenker Group will perform on Saturday, July 12. On the same day, for the first time in Bulgaria, we will see the Italian power/folk metal band Elvenking. The latest album from the Italians is expected to be released on April 11 this year and is titled “Reader of the Runes-Luna.”
Michael Schenker stands out in the world of virtuoso guitarists. His work with the British hard rock band UFO in the 1970s remains one of the most famous periods in rock history, elevating UFO from an underground sensation to a rock legend. In 2024, Michael Schenker celebrated those glorious days with his new album "My Years with UFO." In 2025, the celebration continues with concerts featuring the album.
Produced by Michael Schenker and Michael Voss, the new album marks the 50th anniversary of Schenker's era with UFO, which lasted from 1972 to 1978. The “German wunderkind” was invited to join UFO when he was just 17 years old. Touring the world as a teenager, Schenker became the driving force behind some of UFO’s most beloved songs, such as “Doctor Doctor,” “Rock Bottom,” and “Only You Can Rock Me.”
Although Michael Schenker’s time with UFO lasted only six years, his influence as a songwriter and exceptional guitarist left a lasting impact on rock music. During these fast-paced years, UFO recorded albums like “Phenomenon,” “Force It,” “No Heavy Petting,” “Lights Out,” “Obsession,” and the iconic live album “Strangers in the Night,” which stands as one of the most influential live rock albums of all time and is still considered a cornerstone of any rock enthusiast’s collection.
The star-studded list of guest performers on the latest album includes Axl Rose, Slash, Kai Hansen, Roger Glover, Joey Tempest, Biff Byford, Jeff Scott Soto, John Norum, Dee Snider, Joel Hoekstra, Joe Lynn Turner, Carmine Appice, Adrian Vandenberg, Michael Voss, Stephen Pearcy, and Erik Grönwall.
Few bands today are capable of creating such an enchanting atmosphere as Elvenking. The Italian metal group seems to offer a direct portal to another world, full of tales, wonders, and soaring melodies. The band not only creates music but also an entire new universe around it.
Midalidare Rock In The Wine Valley will take place from July 11 to 13, 2025. Tickets are on sale through the Eventim network nationwide, as well as at OMV, the National Palace of Culture Ticket Center, Technopolis, and Bulgarian Post offices.
