ROLANDO VILLAZÓN

Hailed as one of the music world's most beloved stars, Rolando Villazón has had a multi-faceted career spanning opera, directing, writing and broadcasting. A native of Mexico City, Villazón rose to international prominence after winning several prizes in Plácido Domingo's "Operalia" competition in 1999. Since then, he has graced the world's most prestigious stages and collaborated with renowned conductors such as Daniel Barenboim and Antonio Pappano.
Villazón's artistic versatility extends beyond singing; he made his directorial debut in 2011 and has since received acclaim for his productions at prestigious venues such as the Salzburg Festival. As an exclusive recording artist for Deutsche Grammophon, he has released over 20 albums and DVDs and received numerous awards.
Awarded the title of Chévalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, Villazón is also an ambassador for RED NOSES Clowndoctors International and a member of the Collège de Pataphysique de Paris. He is also an acclaimed author, with several bestselling novels to his name.
Currently the artistic director of the Mozarteum Foundation in Salzburg, Villazón continues to captivate audiences around the world. Highlights of the 2023-24 season included performances at the Bayreuth Baroque Opera Festival, the Metropolitan Opera in New York and the Berlin Staatsoper. He closed the season with a baroque gala at the Vienna State Opera with Cecilia Bartoli.

French pianist Sarah Tysman, a professor at Berlin University of the Arts since 2016, excels as a soloist, lied accompanist, and chamber musician. Collaborating with renowned conductors like Kirill Petrenko and Philippe Jordan, she has held key positions at prestigious opera festivals and houses such as Salzburg and Vienna State Opera. Her partnership with Kirill Petrenko has led to performances with the Berlin Philharmonic. Notable international performances at venues like La Scala and Wigmore Hall, along with acclaimed recordings like her Richard Strauss Lieder CD, solidify her prominence in classical music.
