Four years after the very first event of SY11, Sonya Yoncheva returns to her hometown Plovdiv for a spectacular concert gala of "Tosca" by Giacomo Puccini - on June 4 at 8:30 p.m. The gala will take place in the Plovdiv Ancient Theater. Along with Sonya, the orchestra and the choir of the Plovdiv Opera will accompany the Bulgarian soprano on stage, and her husband Domingo Hindoyan will stand at the conductor's desk.

"In the Ancient Theater - this magical place, we will celebrate the 70th anniversary of Plovdiv Opera and the 100th death anniversary of Maestro Puccini. I have sung Tosca on so many stages - Arena di Verona, Metropolitan Opera, Vienna State Opera, in Japan with the Rome Opera and every time the excitement is incredible. It is not by chance that this opera is one of the most loved by the audiences all over the world and I am really happy to perform this musical masterpiece in front of the Bulgarian audience in the heart of my hometown", says Sonya Yoncheva.
